We are recruiting!
Care Administrator & Coordinator
30 hours a week · Up to £14.50 per hour (up to £22,620 a year, actual salary for 30 hours) · Office-based in Ballygowan · Permanent
Join our small, family-run home-care team and help keep our service running smoothly. You’ll coordinate rotas, support recruitment and compliance, and manage our day-to-day office administration. The role also includes providing hands-on care when short-notice cover is needed, with training and support from our Registered Manager.
What you’ll do
- Run recruitment admin from advert to start date, including AccessNI, right-to-work, reference and driver checks, and keep NISCC registrations, training and staff records current and inspection-ready.
- Assist with building and maintaining the weekly rota and covering gaps from sickness, leave and new packages, and be the first point of contact for clients, families and carers during office hours.
- Manage the office mailbox, correspondence, supplies and meeting minutes; record and track incidents, complaints and compliments, escalating concerns to the Registered Manager and monitoring agreed actions.
- Provide hands-on care — including personal care and medication support — when a carer is unavailable at short notice, to the same standard as every SV Premier carer.
What we’re looking for
- A full driving licence valid for use in Northern Ireland and access to a suitable vehicle with business-use insurance and MOT where required – essential.
- Willing to complete an Enhanced AccessNI check, undertake all mandatory carer training and register with NISCC.
- At least a year in an administrative or coordination role with responsibility for records and compliance; confident with Microsoft 365 and quick to learn new systems.
- Organised and accurate under pressure, with a warm, clear manner on the phone and in writing; discreet and reliable in a small team.
- Desirable: experience in domiciliary care or another RQIA-regulated service, hands-on care experience, or a QCF/NVQ in Health and Social Care, business or HR qualification.
What we offer
- Up to £14.50 per hour depending on experience (up to £22,620 a year, actual salary for 30 hours).
- Paid induction, mandatory training and supported shadowing, with a competency assessment before you undertake care visits independently.
- Office-based in Ballygowan, with occasional working from home possible after probation, by agreement. There may be an opportunity to increase hours as the service grows, by mutual agreement.
